“Holy” Taxpayer money.

You would think that all politicians and commentators would hold a sacred dedication ceremony before deciding to spend taxpayer money. After all the experts, and the democrats and the republicans are all trying to outdo each other in declaring the sanctity and the specialness of spending taxpayer funds. I wonder if any of them ever thought of that when they sit in their field boxes at the various stadiums across the country which are funded by taxpayer money…..Or perhaps when they gaze on their own version of a bridge to nowhere they have graciously secured for their home state. Of course, this sanctimonious rhetoric has reached the minds and psych of the average American ; the average Joe wants to now know ” why doesn’t the Fed pay my mortgage ?” or ” how can we use taxpayer funds to fund the “fat cats ?”” .  Do they have any idea how much taxpayer money gets wasted on projects that have zero economic benefit. Do they understand the concept of economic development subsidies that are handed out on a regular basis that do generate jobs and other positive economic stimuli  ( some unjustly of course – like the sports teams in ,many cases)   Does anyone understand that a failure of AIG would have cost more money in the long run ? Do they realize the economic domino affect of such a failure ?  Besides, if they feel so strongly about AIG being spared so the “Fat cats” can win”they are more then welcome to call their nearest stockbroker ( assuming they are still in business) and join the club. 2 dollars will buy you a ticket to the ” Fat cat” club. No sacred ceremonies required.
( disclosure: I have joined the Fat cat club: I recently became the proud owner ( at least for now) of AIG shares )
